Dryden City Overview
(Go to the Dryden Sport Hotels Section)

Since its birth in 1894, Dryden Ontario has enjoyed continued prosperity throughout its short life. Beginning as an experimental farm, founded by the Honourable John Dryden, the city has taken advantage of an abundance of natural resources with the establishment of strong forest product and hospitality industries.

The current pulp and paper mill, Weyerhaeuser, employs more than 1,300 people, and can boast being the safest mill in Canada. Manufacturing pulp, paper, and lumber, Weyerhaeuser is internationally known for its quality, and is an active supporter of various community events held in Dryden.

Cradled in the vast Northwestern forest, Dryden offers both visitors and residents a strong retail and service sector, full service airport, a newly renovated healthcare unit and modern communications network. With these essentials, and low taxes this safe, clean, community is able to provide the opportunities needed to develop a career, raise a family, or savor retirement.

Lakes, trails, beaches and parks surround this small, serene community, beckoning visitors to sample a wide range of activities and annual celebrations; such as, golfing, skiing, Canada Day, and Native Pow Wows.

Proudly standing at the tourist information centre, Maximillian Moose presides over the community with its many hotels, restaurants, recreation facilities, and gift shops within the area. In honour of his ancestors, cousins, and friends of the wilderness this burly beast, with head raised, captures the spirit of the Sunset Country.

The Recreation Complex: (located at 84 Whyte Avenue) features: a twin pad arena, swimming pool, therapeutic warm pool; sauna, fitness and multi-purpose room, squash/racquetball courts
