Cornwall is a city that takes pride in being able to combine small town warmth and hospitality with big-city facilities and services. Within minutes of the City's centre are found an extensive array of shops, fine dining facilities, and entertainment centres interspersed with the many historical and artistic attractions of the area.

For the golf enthusiast, twelve golf courses are located within the Cornwall area. They range from small par-3 layouts to 36 hole championship courses.

The St. Lawrence River is an integral part of the local community. It supports important commercial and recreational activities such as fishing, hunting, boating, sailing and swimming.

The hub of boating activity on the Cornwall waterfront is Marina 200. The marina is a first-class facility with a capacity for 160 boats. In addition to this marina, nine other marinas are located in the Cornwall area.

Camping and day-tripping in the Cornwall area are favourite local pastimes. Residents are fortunate to have at their immediate disposal an impressive range of parks that are open year round or seasonal. Set in scenic Lamoureux park on the St. Lawrence River, the Cornwall Civic Complex is a modern convention and entertainment centre. In addition to meeting facilities, the Complex houses a massive trade concourse as well as an arena/concert hall seating up to 4,000 people.

Cornwall is also home to the Cornwall Colts Junior A Hockey Club. The Colts play out of the Si Miller Arena.

Situated in scenic parkland along the banks of the St. Lawrence River, the Civic Complex is a highly versatile and modern facility that is host to all manner of activities from private meetings to major community events such as concerts, conventions and professional sporting competitions.

The heart of the Complex is the Ed Lumley Arena, a modern ice rink that boasts state of the art rink boards, seating for up to 5500 people and a versatile sound and light infrastructure. Over the years it has played host to NHL hockey, professional ice skating and top entertainment acts such as Celine Dion, Randy Travis and Blue Rodeo.

The arena is complemented by a Conference facility that offers over a dozen meeting room combinations totaling 20,000 sq.ft, making the Complex a major convention centre in Eastern Ontario. Complemented with a full service restaurant and situated in a picturesque waterfront setting at the edge of Cornwall's downtown shopping district, the Convention Centre can easily accommodate events ranging from small meetings to large weddings and conferences.
